At the Fairfax AdMedia 2009 Agency of the year awards, Republik won the Indie category.

Colenso BBDO is the 2009 Fairfax AdMedia Agency of the Year. Outgoing Fairfax Media NZ ceo Joan Withers (see Arrivals & Departures) handed over the premium ad-business trophy to the agency last evening at Sale St restaurant & bar in downtown Auckland.
In addition to the agency winners, CAANZ president David Walden received a special award recognising his work as a spokesman for the industry.

Also announced at that same function were three inductees into the Mail Marketing Service AdMedia Advertising Hall of Fame. They were:
Roger MacDonnell (retired last year as chairman of Colenso BBDO).
Creative pioneer Len Potts.
The late Sir John Ilott (head of Ilott Advertising from 1919-1972, known to many as ‘the father of NZ advertising’).
MacDonnell and Potts were there in person to accept their citations from Fiona Woolley of the Mail Marketing Service.
